Hitman 3 is Agent 47’s latest outing and a wrap for the trilogy that started it all in Hitman 2016. The game has been receiving a lot of positive reviews by critics and gamers and the levels are touted as the best collection of any Hitman game to date.

Top that off with ever so crisp visuals and a thunderous score, the game is very enticing to try out. This has left fans asking questions regarding if they necessarily need to play the previous games to be able to enjoy the story.

Can You Play Hitman 3 Without Playing The Others?

The short answer to the question is yes. Hitman games are mostly about the gameplay and the story is mostly set dressings in an effort to put the titular Agent 47 in a bunch of interesting scenarios. The games are mostly about taking the time to scour the environments and try to craft one’s own stories of the most over the top and sometimes hilarious assassinations.

However, players who find themselves intrigued about the story from the trailers will be doing themselves a disservice by jumping straight into the game. The story picks off straight from 2018’s Hitman 2 and players are expected to know the basic plots and characters involved in the game, as is the case for most series.

Fans shouldn’t be upset after all, as they will only need to play the previous 2 games to get to know everything. The best part is that they can be purchased as add-ons for Hitman 3 and played entirely in Hitman 3 with a bunch of visual upgrades.
