How To Unlock The Chippin’ Quest

To unlock the quest, you will need to finish the Tapeworm quest first. This quest is one of the main jobs, so finding that won’t be a problem. The required quest, Chippin’ In automatically triggers after that. The Tapeworm quest just consists of 4 dialogue bits from Johnny at various intervals of the game.

During the Search and Destroy quest, Johnny Silverhand comes to talk to you after the proxy has left the hotel. Simply leave the room and you’ll find him leaning on a pillar. The main character will collapse during the conversation. You wake up on the balcony of a hotel following the collapse. The hotel’s name is Pistis Sophia and is situated in the Pacifica region.

The hotel is currently abandoned and Johnny brought you here to show something special. Follow him to the room. Johnny will ask you to empty a cache in the kitchen. This leads to V’s taking out some dog tags, which belonged to Johnny. This will reward you with Johnny’s tank top in your inventory.

Johnny keeps on talking to you and you get a couple of dialogue choices here. He will ask V about Hanako’s offer. He also keeps on talking about taking revenge on Adam Smasher. Simply choose the dialogues of your liking. Now it’s time to leave the hotel. This will trigger the completion of the Tapeworm quest and unlock the Chippin’ In mission instantly.

The “Chippin’ In” mission starts with you sitting at the bar and talking to Claire. This is a pretty interesting quest that involves a lot of action at the docks. We won’t spoil the mission for now, but know that you will get a lot of Silverhand’s iconic gear as a reward for completing this quest.
