Being a Gacha game, most of the game entails grinding for resources and experience points to increase your Adventure Rank. This in turn should enable you to take up increasingly harder quests. One of the most valuable resources in the game is Primogems.
There are many ways to collect Primogems in Genshin Impact. One of the most satisfying ways to collect these is to unlock achievements as it also gives something to show off to other players. Some of these achievements are hidden that give a vague description of the task you need to complete. One such achievement is the “Prodigal Son’s Return”. The Prodigal Son’s Return Achievement
The description for this achievement states, “Follow the path of one of the members of a long-lost investigation team to where they embarked on their journey home.” Figuring everything out can be daunting, but fear not, for we have you covered. Just follow the simple steps to easily unlock this achievement:
Finding the First Rugged Record
Travel to the waypoint in the Entombed City Outskirts. Once there, start moving forward until you reach a big hole of water.
Now, we need to solve the puzzle of the four ice pillars. In order to do that, switch to a Cryo character.
The first pillar can be found towards the left corner of the water hole.
The second pillar is situated above the first pillar.
The third one stands at the corner of the big hole.
The fourth one is situated above the third pillar.
Once you have interacted with all these pillars, activate the central mechanism to drain the water from the hole.
- Now, you will have to acquire the Scarlet Quartz and break the ice.
The Scarlet Quartz can be found near the mechanism. Move towards the north and then take the first right.
Now, break the ice to find another mechanism that should open the cage doors.
Fight the enemies that appear there and interact with the first Rugged Record.
Finding the Second Record
Using your Elemental View, trace the whereabouts of the next campsite.
Now, break the stone wall in your way. Open the following door by using the left mechanism.
Climb through the rest of the way to reach the camp and find the second rugged record.
The Last of the Rugged Records
Reach the location marked by a star icon on the image to find the third record.
Once there, start moving forward. Remember not to climb the mountain.
Stop near the broken boat to find the last record.
