Dark Souls 3 is the final entry in the mainline Souls game. The game was released in 2016 to great critical acclaim on account of its increased pace of combat and absolutely vicious bosses. The game, much like its predecessors, included an online mode.

The Souls online mode allows players to engage in co-op activities as a player can be summoned to another world to fight tough bosses together. At the same time, it also allows players to engage in activities such as intruding on others’ worlds.

With this established, we are encountering a lot of queries wherein players are confused whether Dark Souls 3 supports cross-platform play or not. This article details everything players will need to know on the matter.

Is Dark Souls 3 Cross-Platform?

At the time of writing, Dark Souls 3 does not support cross-platform features. The online functionality of the game is platform-specific, which simply means that players cannot interact with others on a different platform. While this may sound a bit negative, it’s likely that the game is never going to receive a cross-platform patch.

Dark Souls 3 is already 4 years old at this point and the developers have moved onto greater pastures and are garnering huge successes with their brand new IPs such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Elden Ring is in the works and is supposed to come out sometime soon, which further diminishes the possibility of this happening.

This is, however, really sad as not all players will be gaming on the same platform. The release of the next generation of consoles has dawned upon us and this time, it’s about bringing everyone together with Microsoft leading the charge in this department. Dark Souls 3 was probably the last Dark Souls and it is really sad that players would most probably never going to get a cross-platform patch.
