It’s been more than a month since Sony showcased the first look at PlayStation 5. Currently, a lot of information has come to the surface about the Next-Gen Console. Although we don’t know about the console price and lunch date. There are many reasons to get a PlayStation 5 At Launch. Let’s dive into some of the details.

Exclusive GamesHorizon Forbidden West is the biggest PS5 exclusive confirmed so far

The main reason to get PlayStation 5 at Launch is for the coming exclusive games which will follow the console launch. Games are the most important selling point of a console. Considering that PlayStation 4 dominated the current generation with its exclusive games. It’s safe to say PS5 will get breathtaking exclusives. On PS5 we will be getting 10 exclusives at lunch or in the near feature. These games are Astro’s Playroom, Demon’s Soul, Destruction AllStars, Gran Turismo 7, Horizon 2 Forbidden West, Ratchet, and Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. We got the first look at these games at Sony’s Future of gaming event and they looked visually stunning. The exclusive games on PS5 will take full advantage of the console’s hardware and superfast SSD.

Visual Details

Visual details are one of the most important aspects of a game. But if you are expecting a huge improvement in visuals between PS4 to PS5 then you might be disappointed. Starting games on the console will have almost similar visuals that you can see on PS4. However, over time the graphics will improve. Still, this doesn’t change the fact that Sony has some pretty good looking exclusives for PS5 whose release will follow the console’s launch. Other things that the developers will focus on is stable gameplay experience. The developers will try to make 60 fps the minimum frame rate with the final goal to reach 120 fps at native 4K. With this generation more focusing is on Ray-Tracing which will improve light bouncing from an object.

Solid-state DrivePlayStation 5 At Launch

The loading screen has been a part of the games since the beginning of gaming. SSD in PS5 is something that we have never seen in a console.  We already saw how impactful the SSD is in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart gameplay trailer, the SSD in PS5 is capable of loading a game world in milliseconds. The main focus of this generation of console is how to get rid of the loading screen. The PS5 will be using 825GB SSD. This new SSD is capable of getting 5.5GB/S to 9GB/S of reading and write speeds.

DualSense Controller

New PS5 DualSense Controller has many features that will be appealing to the players and creators. Some known features are Haptic Feedback, Addaptic Triggers, Create Button, Built-in microphone, More Battery Life, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C.

Tempest Audio Engine

Audio is one of the biggest aspects of gaming. [personal opinion]Even though the audio engine in PS4 is good It can’t be compared to the audio in PS3. Sony is introducing a new 3D audio engine for PlayStation 5. This new engine is called Tempest Audio Engine. Tempest Engine will immerse the player in the game’s surrounding with more realistic noise and sound effects. This engine design around all the audio a player use whether it is Headphone, Speaker, Soundbar, Etc..

Improved CPU And GPU

The hardware inside the PS4 became outdated pretty early due to more focus on 4k gaming. On the other side, PS5 will feature a custom 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.2GHz variable frequency. PS5 also has a custom RDNA 2 architecture-based GPU with 16GB of GDDR 6 RAM. Which is capable of producing 10.28 teraflops clocked at a variable frequency. So, you can enjoy 4K games at 60 fps without any problem.

Digital Edition

Sony will release 2 versions of PS5 during the holiday 2020. The Standard Edition PS5 comes with a Blu-ray disk drive and PS5 Digital Edition with a sleek design. This will give gamers who buy all their games digitally an option. PS5 Digital Edition will be less expensive than the standard edition. Although the price has not revealed yet some rumors suggest that Digital Edition will be somewhere around 50$-100$.

Expendable Storage

PlayStation 5 At Launch

PS5 comes with an 825GB SSD. If that is not enough you can also plug an external storage device into the console. External storage can only be used for PS4 games. PS5 will also come with a built-in storage expansion bay for an additional SSD. The console will only compatible with certain M.2 SSD. Sony will release a list for the compatible SSD around the PS5 lunchtime.

UI And OS

As reported by THE VERGE, The new UI and OS for PS5 will be a 100% overhaul with the addition of new concepts. Sony executive says that their team will soon fully reveal the new OS. Sony gives us some glimpse of the OS on their PS5 reveal stream.

Virtual Reality

Since Sony hasn’t revealed anything about their VR for this generation of console. But if you are into VR then getting a PS5 early on will let you prepared for the new VR when it will come out. Also, PlayStation 5 is compatible with the first-generation PSVR headset.

Honestly, getting a next-gen experience early on from day one is incredible. As per previous reports, Sony will be selling the PS5 console per family. It will be somewhat limited in numbers and buying it would itself be satisfying. And with the exclusives, we will get after the launch is alone a huge deciding factor.
